The Berkshire town of Reading has a very large population numbering over two hundred thousand people. The town was established sometime before eight hundred AD and was a major medieval settlement. Today Reading is a thriving business and commercial centre with more people commuting to Reading to work than commuting from the town, despite it being within forty miles of the city of London.
